Description

What is the handbook all about. What is the broad topic, what are the main aspects to be covered?

The handbook should be providing best practices around OER and OEP in Nordic and Baltic countries
  • Experiences in schools and academia, public, private sector
  • Experiences should cover both positive (best practices, success stories) and negative (failed attempts, services not used by teachers) aspects
  • Analysis of benefits (what can be achieved by the application of OER and OEP for each stakeholder)
    • Benefits for teachers
    • Benefits for organisations
    • Benefits for learners
  • Guidelines and tool box(es) for the application of OER and OEP
    • Technical guidelines (how to set up personal and institutional systems, how to integrate systems in the software landscape)
    • Information literacy (how to ensure quality of the information sources)
    • Adaptation and Integration guidelines (how to use the content in own teaching / learning)
    • Managerial guidelines (incentive systems, time management etc.)

    Target Group

Briefly describe the characteristics, requirements and preferences of the target group

This handbook should be easily accessible and distributable to all relevant communities. Educational authories, ministries could be the main target group?

    Relevant communities are:

    • Institutions
    • Teachers
    • Local authorities, county authorities, ministries of education
    • Teachers' associations
    • ....

      @philipp
If it's an e-handbook, multiple versions are no problem.

We should cover all stakeholders who can make a decision if to apply OER and OEP or not, Ministry of education, school district, school management and teacher. Not sure if one handbook covering all or separate handbooks for each user group would make more sense.

yea i guess it is mainly then making one document and adapting it to the needs of the different users.

    Handbook -detailed plan

Please create a table which shows the main contents, sections as well as potential references (book chapters, papers, ..) and OER to be used for the development of the handbook.

    Ideas?

    • Toolbox for creating and repurposing OERs: The main ingredient: A collaborative tool for translations and collaboration (à la Transifex (this is a commercial tool  - any Open Source alternatives?)
